DSTTi firmware update has been released, proving once and for all that the card is in fact update-able. This update fixes the compatibility of the card with DSi firmware 1.4.
The update can only be run on DS, DS Lite or DSi firmware 1.3 (or less). It is very important that you run this update before updating your DSi to firmware 1.4.
After the update, the DSTTi will have a new icon/text in the menu (see picture).

The newest version of the dstti now works after the 1.4 update so no worries anyone! Update: Nintendo’s 1.4 update makes ALL current flash cards not work. But it does add facebook functionality. So you’ll have to choose between facebook or free games. Sorry, I ramble a lot when I just wake up in the morning. Here are the steps you need to take to play DS games for free on your dsi.
Step 1: Buy the dstti here (It’s the cheapest price I could find): http://www.acceshop4u.com
Step 2: Download this kernal v. 1.17, unzip it, and place the files into your microsd card: ndstt.com
Step 3: Go here to download the latest cheatdatabase (Download the USRCHEAT.DAT file and replace the one that came with the kernal): cheats.gbatemp.net
Step 4: Go here to get your .NDS roms and place them directly into your microsd card:
Step 5: Delight in. Note: If you place all of your games in a folder, it’ll prevent any freezing.
